On Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 March 2020, the video interviews between the Jonk Fuerscher and the members of the jury of the 49th national "Jonk Fuerscher" competition took place.

 This year, 66 participants from 38 innovative projects in a wide variety of fields such as biology, chemistry, physics, computer science, engineering, social sciences and psychology took part in the competition organised by the Fondation Jeunes Scientifiques Luxembourg and defended their projects before the expert jury.

Due to the recent development around COVID-19 and the Luxembourgish government’s decision to close all schools as of Monday 16 March and prohibit any event in a confined space bringing together more than 100 people as of Friday 13 March, the board of the Fondation Jeunes Scientifiques Luxembourg (FJSL) is forced to cancel the Open House and the Award Ceremony of the National “Jonk Fuerscher” Contest, scheduled to take place in Luxembourg on 29 March 2020 at the Forum Campus Geesseknäppchen.

Given the growing concerns around COVID-19 and its global spreading, it is with deep regret that the board of the Fondation Jeunes Scientifiques Luxembourg (FJSL) has taken the decision to cancel the international science event Expo-Sciences Luxembourg, scheduled to take place in Luxembourg from March 26th – 30th 2020.

After being awarded the 2019 FNR award for “Outstanding promotion of science to the public” for their “Jonk Fuerscher” national contest, the members of the FJSL were invited over to the studios of Radio 100,7 for an interview.

Natalie Gerhardstein sat down with Henry Ahola and Negin Baradari ahead of the FJSL conference on November 29th for an interview for Delano, the all-English monthly publication for Luxembourg’s international community.

After having been awarded the FNR award for “Outstanding promotion of science to the public” for the “Jonk Fuerscher” national contest, Jessika Rauch from the Luxemburger Wort wrote an article about the Fondation Jeunes Scientifiques Luxembourg.
